Canon has unveiled 5 new small office and home office (SOHO) inkjet printers. The Maxify range of printers has been designed to make wireless and smart device printing quicker and easier. The range includes 4 multi-function printers, the Maxify MB2040, the Maxify MB2340, the Maxify MB5040 and the Maxify MB5340, and one single function printer, the Maxify iB4040.

The Maxify multi-function printers (MB2040, MB2340, MB5040 and MB5340) all have scan, copy, print and fax capabilities and all of the printers in the range feature Canon’s Quick First Print which means you’ll get your first page out in about 7 seconds.

The Maxify MB5340 features Canon’s Single Pass two-sided scan technology that allows both sides of a document to be scanned at once, saving time in the process.

The printers are actually pretty quick when it comes to printing an entire document as well. The Maxify MB2040 has a print speed of 16 pages per minute (ppm) for black and white and 11 ppm for colour. According to Mark Robinson, market business developer at Canon UK & Ireland, the Maxify range will allow ‘SMBs [to] take the office with them like never before’. The printers are all able to print from anywhere and are Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print ready.

Through the Maxify Cloud Link app which is available for Apple and Android devices, the printers can scan to and print from a variety of cloud storage providers including Evernote, Dropbox, OneDrive and Google Drive.

The Maxify MB2040, Maxify MB2340, Maxify MB5040 and Maxify MB5340 all have an automatic duplexing feature and a 50 page automatic document feeder for unattended scanning and copying. All of the printers use Canon’s new Dual Resistant High Density (DRHD) pigment ink cartridges. The DHRD inks have been designed to be colour fast and friction and marker resistant, which makes them perfect for high quality documents that last.
