It seems that Epson’s new ink tank printers have been taking the world by storm (see Epson Introduces Ultra-Low Cost Printing by Replacing Ink Cartridges with Refillable Ink Tanks for more information).

The OEM recently released their results for the third quarter of 2014 and sales of Epson ink tank printers have boosted the printer manufacturer’s profits by 9%.

Epson reports that its inkjet printer revenue grew due to the increased sales of their L Series and WorkForce M Series printers which had higher average selling prices.

This made up for a decline in sales of inkjet printers using traditional Epson ink cartridges. Revenue from printer cartridges and other printer consumables also rose.

Epson’s large-format printers saw increased sales in the Asian markets, which contributed to the company’s growth. Epson also reported that sales of its entry-level projectors were solid, contributing to record quarterly unit sales.
