Imagine a world where you’re able to reuse the same sheet of printed paper up to 5 times, a world where saving the environment also meant saving money on your printing supplies. Now you can, with Toshiba’s eco-friendly multi-function printer system that erases text and images so that you can reuse printer paper for multiple prints.
Using a specially designed toner cartridge and toner powder, the Toshiba e-STUDIO 306LP/RD 30 combine to create a printer/eraser module that allows you to scan, copy, print, fax and erase. According to Toshiba, you’ll be able to refill your paper tray with the same paper 5 times.
Using specially designed bio-plastics, which have been made from plant extracts, and the principles behind Pilot’s FriXion erasable pens, Toshiba has created a special toner powder that loses its colour when heated.
The RD30 eraser is capable of detecting how many times a sheet of paper has been moved through it and will automatically sort the erasable sheets from the non-erasable ones. It also comes with the option to scan and digitally save any pages before they’re erased so that no data is lost.
The toner and printer are compatible with standard printer paper as well, meaning you won’t have to get special paper in and can cut down on additional costs.
The system is incredibly innovative and has won gold in the Most Innovative Product of the Year at Best in Biz 2014 International and was voted as the Best Eco Product in The Australian Business Awards 2014. The Toshiba e-STUDIO 306LP/RD30 drastically reduces the environmental impact associated with printing and offers up to a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions and an 80% reduction in paper consumption.
Since its release in 2013, the Toshiba e-STUDIO 306LP/RD30 has become integral to the way in which its users think about printing and paper. Toshiba has stated that they want to introduce the system to more customers worldwide in an attempt to get them to use resources sustainably.
