New Canon Pixma Inkjet Printers Aim To Simplify Photo Printing

Good news for photography enthusiasts. Canon South Africa has recently unveiled a new line of PIXMA photo printers. The PIXMA MG7540, PIXMA MG6640 and PIXMA MG5640 are all designed to simplify scanning, editing and printing photos.

The printers come with a wide range of features, including wireless printing and borderless photo printing up to A4. The printers all feature Canon’s Cloud Link and PictBridge applications, which allow for effortless printing directly from the internet or PictBridge enabled cameras.

All three printers can print, scan and copy and all are compatible with Canon’s PIXMA Printing Solutions App which gives you access to Easy Photo Print +. This allows you to effortlessly design and print greeting cards and photo collages. The printers are also Google Cloud print and Apple AirPrint ready and can print direct from email.

The printers use individual standard and high yield Canon ink cartridges to provide crisp clear text and high quality colour photos. The ink cartridges can be changed individually, which means you save money on replacements. The printers also all allow for automatic duplexing, which means you save on paper costs as well.

The Canon PIXMA MG7540 is the premium model in the range. It has a large, 8.8cm touch screen and a sleek design. Its two paper trays can handle both plain and glossy paper and it can print directly to DVD, CD and Blu-Ray discs. The PIXMA MG7540 is also NFC enabled for simple one tap printing from your smartphone or tablet.

The printer uses 6 individual ink cartridges to create beautiful images. The printer has a print speed of 15 impressions per minute (ipm) for black and 10 ipm for colour prints. The PIXMA MG7540 can also print directly from memory cards.

The Canon PIXMA MG6640 is designed for both home users and professional photographers. The 7.5cm touchscreen allows you to use the printer effortlessly. The 5 individual printer ink tanks combine to create crisp text and bright photos. It is also NFC enabled and has a print speed of 15 ipm for black and 9 ipm for colour prints. The PIXMA MG6640 has a slot for printing directly from memory card.

The smallest printer in the range, the Canon PIXMA MG5640, is perfect for home use. It has a 6.2cm touchscreen display and uses 5 individual ink tanks for printing. It has a print speed of 12 ipm for black and 8 ipm for colour prints.

- Canon PGI-450 pigment black ink
- Canon PGI-450XL pigment black ink
- Canon CLI-451 black ink
- Canon CLI-451XL black ink
- Canon CLI-451 cyan ink
- Canon CLI-451XL cyan ink
- Canon CLI-451 magenta ink
- Canon CLI-451XL magenta ink
- Canon CLI-451 yellow ink
- Canon CLI-451XL yellow ink

The Pixma MG7540 also uses the Canon CLI-451 grey ink cartridge and the Canon CLI-451XL grey ink cartridge.
